in good company with the hungry and foolish

wonderful. it's beautiful.

just finished watching in good company. (must see) yes, "timing is every thing." this movie at this time in my life. earlier i just read steve jobs' commencement speech in stanford and he mentioned about doing what you would really wanna do.

"I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me
going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find
what you love. And that is as true for your work as it
is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large
part of your life, and the only way to be truly
satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And
the only way to do great work is to love what you do.
If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't
settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know
when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it
just gets better and better as the years roll on. So
keep looking until you find it. Don't settle."
-and if you're in where you know is not really for you, think of it as a stepping stone. cliche but yes. and if da opportunity comes, step out! if you don't wanna wait, make your own opportunity!

what you do have to mean something to you. im currently making, i mean writing my personal mission statement. it sounds so formal; that is, the fact that im writing one. dont worry, il make it sound more like my age.

i think i just want my life to mean something - to mean something to me (and i say it with conviction) and (then/as a result/together with/synergistically) to others; to have some changeless core amidst the changing world, even the changing me.

i changed all the "we" with "i" in the following: "With a mission statement, i can flow with changes. i don't need prejudgments or prejudices. i don't need to figure out everything else in life, to stereotype and categorize everything and everybody in order to accomodate reality."

i know im still young. part of me is arguing whether my written misison statement will last or will it just get caught up with everything else. but heck, it works for me now.

some quotes:
Carter Duryea: Wow, you really believe in this stuff, huh?
Dan Foreman: Of course. Why else would I do it?

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone
else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is
living with the results of other people's thinking.
Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your
own inner voice." - SJ

talkin bout dreams and beginning with an end in mind and "you draw to yourself what you think you deserve. we draw into ourselves the same value as our self-appraisal", i want to always feel that brief feeling i felt when i just finished watching da movie. and last thursday wen we smiled at each other. also da feeling wen im with my fellow summer interns in da pantry. it feels lovely. lovely. also last friday at dencio's lunch was wonderful synergy. jst being with family is lovely too. with ahya and liz is good. taking dat initiative with papito n mamach is lovely too. loveRly

that's what i want. im gonna color my future with that emotion and it's wonderful. ima look for dat everywhere for dat loveliness.

it's no longer about wat u do or wer ur at, it's about who ur with n all da good stuff u give n get with them and yourself. both literally and figuratively. you know what i mean.

darkness, well, you had your time with me. i had fun too, you know. without you i wouldnt know how much im missing. thanks.

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

wild geese
