some metaphors
i'm both city and beach.
how do you reconcile both?
the city is lovely. bright lights. everything matters. fast paced. forward. with pauses of light and time in the middle. moving.
the beach is drifty. slow. still-moving,sometimes. cool and warm where nothing matters, dreamy, melancholic wild fun.
now, i dream of the warm sun. but how i want to enjoy the cool air now 'cause i know i'd miss it.
--
it's your smile, your face, your lips that i miss. your sweet little eyes that stare at me and make me say, i'm with you through all the way. 'cause it's you, who fills the emptiness in me. it changes everything you see when i know i got you with me.

"i think now that being free is not being powerful or rich or well regarded or without obligations but being able to love. To love someone else enough to forget about yourself even for one moment is to be free. The mystics and the churchmen talk about throwing off this body and its desires, being no longer a slave to the flesh. They say that though the flesh we are set free. That our desire for another will lift us out of ourselves more cleanly than anything divine. Our longing for freedom is our longing for love. If we had the courage to love we would not so value these acts of war.
"we fear passion and laugh at too much love and those who love too much. And still we long to feel.
"That's what i miss about the fields, the sense of the future as well as the present. That one day what you plant will spring up unexpectedly; a shoot, a tree, just when you were looking the other way, thinking about something else. I like to know that life will outlive me..."

"life is infinite." "life is short."
our life is short but life itself is infinite.
