what's your oxygen?

i saw an episode of Oprah just last week. she interviewed a black dancer after her stellar solo performance. she was so graceful and beautiful. in her flow. during the interview, she talked about dancing as her oxygen. she needed to dance to feel alive. She said everyone should have that something like what dancing is for her.

what's your oxygen?

------

you have to let yourself go.
you only get to keep what you give.
go out of yourself.
walk away from that cage that you've built yourself in.

this hero needs some help
he steels himself every night to get ready for the day to come
he's too fearful of the day ahead
and worries of it until
who knows when

You are the moment when the last bell rings and school lets out for the day. You are resistant to schedules and obligations, so you love feeling like you're in control of your life again. You are the very moment when the second hand hits the 12, and the halls fill with noise and motion. Even if your after-school time is packed with activities, lessons, or a job, somehow, you just feel freer in the late afternoon than you do earlier in the day. Maybe it's all that blue sky and afternoon sunshine? Nah -- even on rainy days, 3:15 is always a beautiful time.

i love google.

just click and you'll find almost anything.
it answers the "what" questions in your head.
those little, even petty, inquiries that bug us sometimes
and we itch to be in front of the monitor.
it's also makes one feel connected -
that someone might be thinking the same things you do
and the anonymity it possesses brings such comfort.
it doesn't give the benefit to some though
'cause who the hell screens all those information!
we can type "Bill Gates" and we'd see not only his enormous
contribution to the AIDs and cancer research,
we'll also see a smorgasbord of Bill Gates, accomplice of the devil! -
just one click away to the impressionable inquisitive
or maybe some maybe just too naive to believe everything they read.
Currently listening to: Bob Dylan
